Archive Management With Streaming and VOD Systems

Asset Management, LLC ( Empress) will be showcasing how its flagship eMAM
digital asset management system can manage streaming and VOD workflows with
storage and processing on location, on dedicated storage, or in the cloud at
the Streaming Media East Show, May 21st-22nd, booth # 323.
eMAM is a full-feature media asset management system, supporting virtually any
digital file format. The hardware agnostic system supports virtually any
streaming file system to provide users with its full feature set for
collaboration, organization, and delivery.
At
the Streaming Media East Show, Empress will showcase an end-to-end workflow featuring
H.264 AVN Series encoders from Visionary Solutions, Inc. During the
demonstration, live H.264 streams will be
captured from VSI’s open-standard, appliance-based encoders and converted to digital assets, which will then be managed via
Empress’s eMAM system for archiving, repurposing, and delivery.

ability to capture live H.264 streams,” said Joe Walsh, vice president of sales
at Visionary Solutions. “This technology demonstration highlights the seamless
workflow with which operators can stream high-quality SD and HD live video for
capture and recording.”
eMAM
can process and store digital assets from different locations on location, on
customer servers, on Empress SaaS infrastructure, or in the
cloud: all managed from the intuitive eMAM
interface
from any Android tablet, iPAD, or Web
browser. The system is integrated with most HSM systems, so eMAM can
directly manage LTO archives.
From
the eMAM Web interface, users can organize, comment, log, mark, send approvals,
subclip, and share links to assets, or choose content for VOD delivery with
transcoding on demand. Empress has partnered with file compression
providers Aspera and File Catalyst, and cloud providers Amazon and Microsoft to
provide a range of delivery options. “We are very excited to offer
best-of-breed solutions to tie together streaming, archive, and VOD customer
